Associate Membership
membership > associate-membership
The RVRA have a category of member – the Associate Member – for those in NSW who do not currently live in a retirement village. These may be:
Do you have a friend or relative who is considering down-sizing? Where are they going for advice? Do they have a list of wants/needs? Are they confused by all the different options?
As we all can attest, thinking about moving into a retirement village is a complex problem. The glossy brochures of prospective retirement villages aside, where do you get the unbiased facts about life in a retirement village, what costs to expect, how they are managed, who to seek advice from? It’s not an easy decision but one which we have all had to make.
Prospective residents can join the RVRA as an Associate Member, and change to full membership after moving in. The only difference between the two categories is that Full Membership gives the right to a vote in the Association. Associate Members have full access to the Members Section of the web site, the Information Sheets, archives of the Monthly Bulletin and the Newsletters. And they also have access to the RVRA Members Enquiries Line which puts members with concerns in touch with one of our Board members for advice.
Managers of Retirement Villages can also benefit from this knowledge - to add to your understanding of Village life.
